Gilgit Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan, formerly known as the Northern Areas, is a region administered by Pakistan as an administrative territory, and constituting the northern portion of the larger Kashmir region which has been the subject of a dispute between India and Pakistan since 1947. Gilgit-Baltistan is home to five of the "eight-thousanders" and to more than fifty peaks above 7,000 metres. Karakoram Highway is the major highway of Gilgit Baltistan which connects the Gilgit Baltistan with rest of Pakistan in south and with china at its north end. It is also termed as 8th wonder of World. It is highest paved road in world which connects major valleys of region.

The second highest peak of the world, K2, is located in the Gilgit-Baldistan region. There are many popular mountains like, rakaposhi, ladyfinger, nanga parbat etc.

Gilgit Baltistan is home of world highest and beautiful valleys. These include Ghancha , Shiger, Astore Valley, Gilgit, Ghizer Valley, Hunza Valley, Skardu and Nagar Valley.

Skardu Valley

Skardu is the capital of Baltistan region and one of the most popular destination for visiting. This city is well developed. Skardu offers direct PIA flight from major cities of the rest of country. There is direct flight from Islamabad, Lahore and soon direct flight from Karachi to Skardu. Skardu has best facilities of hotels and restaurants. Skardu has highest mountain and mountain ranges in the world. World highest mountain K2 is situated in Skardu. There are a lot more tourist site in the region.

Skardu is a city in Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, and serves as the capital of Skardu District. Skardu is located in the 6 kilometres (4 miles) wide by 23 kilometres (14 miles) long Skardu Valley, at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar Rivers[1] at an elevation of nearly 2,500 metres (8,202 feet). The city is an important gateway to the eight-thousanders of the nearby Karakoram Mountain range. The town is located on the Indus river , which separates the Karakoram Range from the Himalayas.

Skardu, along with Gilgit, is a major tourism, trekking and expedition hub in Gilgit–Baltistan. The mountainous terrain of the region, which includes four of the world's 14 Eight-thousander peaks, attracts tourists, trekkers and mountaineers from around the world. The main tourist season is from April to October; except at this time, the area can be cut off for extended periods by the snowy, freezing winter weather.

Hunza Valley

Hunza is one of the most important district of Gilgit Balstistan as it connects Pakistan with China through Khunjerab Pass. Hunza consist of 11.660 km2. This land is house of famous peaks, longest glaciers, and naturally formed beautiful lakes. Batura Glacier is 57 kilometers long and is one the largest and longest glaciers. This Glacier lays the Gojal valley. This region has best tourist sites including Baltit fort which is 700 years old and Altit fort which is 1000 years old. Attabad Lake which came into being in 2010 in a result of huge landslide. This naturally formed lake is visited by thousands of visitors yearly. Moreover, there are great facilities of hotels and restaurants in the region.

It consist of Upper Hunza, Central Hunza and Lower Hunza. Karimabad is the major city of valley and have all facilities for mountaineers and tourists. Major tourist attractions in Hunza are:
